The nose is the most prominent feature on the face.
That is why many doll makers and beginners seem to agonize over the nose more than any other part of the face. But since I have a nose that is a NOSE, and so few of us have a nose that is that delicate, or perky little appendage that poems are written about, it important to learn to sculpt a nose that pleases our eye, or conveys the character of the doll we are working with.
1 Make your dots and sculpt down the sides of the nose, not getting too close to the center line . Work under the fabric pulling up stuffing as you go until you reach the blue X.
2 Enter the top blue X and exit he red dot that is the nostril. Make it a NOSTRIL, not a tiny hole. It is more realistic. Working one side at a time, sculpt around the bulb of the nose until your reach the last blue X.
3 Repeat with the other side of the nose.
4 Finish the nose by taking a stitch from the top blue X as shown, on top of the fabric to the lowe blue X, this defines the sides of the nostrils and gives the nose a more finished look.
